Workshop Title

Extending ImageJ with Macros

In this workshop, you will learn how to extend and customize ImageJ by creating macros. I will demonstrate how to record, edit run and debug macros. You will learn how to install macros in menus, add keyboard shotcuts, create dialog boxes, and how to call plugins from macros and macros from plugins. You will learn how to automatically run macro code when ImageJ launches and how to run macros from the command line. We will spend time exploring the 200 macros and 34 macro tools on the ImageJ website.

I will also demonstrate features added in ImageJ 1.35, such as macro text I/O, file associations (e.g., double-click on a “.lut” file to open it), drag and drop, and running ImageJ from the command line.

There will be ample time for questions and discussion.

Participant Requirements

Participants should be familiar with ImageJ and have some programming experience.
